Got a Bad Deal?

If you’ve been getting the runaround from your manufacturer or they refuse to fix it for free under federal law — you have three options:

  1. Trade-in that old beat-up hunk of junk and get something new.

A new car is a significant investment, and it’s one you expect will serve you for a long time to come. However, in some instances, you may end up with a lemon – a car that requires constant servicing and repairs, even though it’s brand new.

While you may not have to pay for these new repairs out of pocket, being without a car in Pennsylvania can dramatically affect your ability to earn an income. If your vehicle spends more time in the repair shop than in your driveway, your entire life could come to a standstill.

Most Pennsylvania residents don’t know that they have legal recourse if their vehicle purchase doesn’t meet Pennsylvania regulations. If you’ve bought a lemon car, you may be entitled to a refund or replacement vehicle. Our team of lemon law lawyers is always on hand to protect your rights and give you the legal advice you need.

Navigating Pennsylvania lemon law can be tricky, which is why it’s important to have a team of lemon law attorneys on your side.

Many of our clients aren’t even aware of their rights when it comes to their personal vehicles. If you’ve been frustrated by your new vehicle, it may be worthwhile to speak to a legal team to find out if you qualify for any compensation.

    Lemon Law Facts

Pennsylvania law covers all cars and trucks used for personal family or household purposes for the first year or 12,000 miles after purchase (whichever comes first). Vehicles with non-conformities – defects that impair the use, safety, or value of the vehicle – that have undergone several repair attempts are subject to Pennsylvania lemon law regulations.

If you’ve spent more time in the repair shop than out of it (30 non-consecutive days in the first 12 months or 12,000 miles), Pennsylvania law apples as well.

Under Pennsylvania lemon law, manufacturers have a duty to refund any lemon car at the full value of the purchase price or to replace the vehicle with one of equal value. However, many dealerships may be reluctant to follow this law and rely on the fact that very few customers have the legal expertise necessary to pursue the matter further.
